Welcome to Finnegan's Friends!
Thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal! Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Please join the Finnegan's Friends team in our Mini-Walk to Defeat ALS® and donate to our cause.
2021 marks the 10th year Finnegan's Friends is a registered team. Back in 2012, Renee had the team up and running before I even returned from North Carolina after being with Anna when she received her ALS diagnosis. If I remember correctly (things were rather a blur), less than 2 weeks after getting off the plane, I was walking at Cantigny with a few thousand people.
Although Renee, Jon, and I missed actually walking in 2020, this year I'll walk in memory of my daughter, Anna, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2012, at the age of 34. She lost her courageous battle 9 months later. We also participate to support those individuals and families who are currently struggling with ALS like my friend Warren E. Jon walks in memory of his cousin Carole P and a friend Jamie R, both from Indiana. And we also walk with the future in mind, hoping that researchers will find a cure.
Many of you have been on this journey with us for many years and we appreciate your sustained support! If you live nearby, please join David and me on June 5 in the Trees of Wheaton east parking lot (1312A Woodcutter Lane). We'll do a couple of laps around the pond. Or join Renee at Mt. St. Mary’s Sculpture Park at Prairie Street, east of Route 31 in St. Charles. Of course you can always hold a mini-walk in your own neighborhood and raise awareness about ALS.
Peace,
Paula
