On January 29, 2015, my sister, my mom, my dad and myself received the devastating diagnosis, ALS. My dad had been experiencing strange symptoms for a few months, until finally it was time to find out what was going on. After months of apponintments, blood work, MRIs, X-rays, CT Scans and finally an EMG, it was confirmed.
As a God-loving, God-fearing family, we prayed since before the diagnosis that God would bring healing and restoration to his body. On April 28, 2016, my Dad's fight with ALS ended. And although his fight is over, we will continue to hold on to that faith that God will perform a miracle with other families. But in the meantime, we can't sit on our hands and do nothing. Since February 2015, we have been involved in the Walk to Defeat ALS, raising funds to find a cure, now, it's no longer for dad, but for the millions of others who will receive the same devastating and life-changing news.
As TEAM SANTANA, we have set a goal to raise $2,500 to continue the search for a cure and we need your help. Anything you can donate towards this cause, can make an impact beyond your imagination. You're not funding my dad, my mom, my sister or myself, you're funding an association devoted to finding a cure for a disease that for 147 has taken countless lives. Please, help us, support the cause, walk, donate, share our story with you family and friends and make a difference in the lives of many.
Thanks for your support,
"WHILE THERE'S LIFE, THERE IS HOPE." -STEPHEN HAWKING
