This page, our team, and this walk are in memory and in honor of my brother Bill, who passed away on May 19, 2013. This will be our eighth year walking in support of those suffering from ALS. Our team name, "Bill Hill's Smiling Faces" comes from the song, "Your Smiling Face" by James Taylor, one of Bill's favorites. Bill's warmth, humor, and especially his smile, are legendary. He was a force of nature, an incredibly positive, fun and loving man with boundless energy, a loving husband to Suz, a devoted father to Christopher and Justin, a loving son to Bill and Barbara, and Ginger and Allen, and the best brother in the world to Susanne, Claudia and Stacey. He was loved by his nieces, nephews and friends across the country. Bill's legacy lives on. Last year we welcomed Bill's first grandchild to our family when Bill's son Christopher and Andrea became parents to Charlie.

On SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th, our start lines will be spread across the island as we remain united in one goal: a world without ALS.

Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
