A MESSAGE FROM TEAM KATHY'S CAPTAIN
Team Kathy is in honor of an extraordinary woman that I have always looked up to. She unfortunately passed due to her suffering from ALS, and I saw her more when she had ALS than when she was healthy. Although I was a young child when I was around Kathy and did not know her for very long, I still comprehended her suffering and was consistently inspired by her positive attitude, resiliency, and compassion. I still am to this very day. I even took a second middle name, Kathleen, to remind me to be more like her every day.
I was told that when Kathy was alive and healthy, she took care of her parents when they were ill. Even when she was fighting this disease, her concern for her loved ones at family functions was more than apparent. Fundraising for ALS as Team Kathy's Captain is my way of honoring Kathy and doing my part to pass on her inspirational strength, selfless love, and dedication to the wellness of others.
I hope you can join us in our pursuit of finding a cure for ALS, and I would love to see you at the virtual The Walk to Defeat ALS! Please consider donating if you can, as well. Any amount helps! Thank you for your support!
-Lauren Taglienti, Captain of Team Kathy
