Hello Family and Friends,
As you may or may not know, our Mom (Diane Hackett) has recently been diagnosed with familial ALS. Unfortunately, this disease has spanned our family for multiple generations: Our grandmother (Donata Altiere) died of this deadly disease in 1959 at the age of 44. My mother's cousin Gerard Laurenzano died of ALS in 1998 at the age of 50, and our great grandmother may have died of ALS in 1947 at the age of 59.
There is currently no cure for this disease. While there are many promising drug trials underway, more research is necessary to find a cure.
Thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal! Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Our team is committed to raising money to support people in our community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. Please consider joining our team in the Walk to Defeat ALS® or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.
