My brother, Larry Samuel Jr., recently retired from the Air Force, after dedicating 20 years of fighting for our country's freedom; something many take for granted. In March of this year, he underwent an unfortunate turn of events and was diagnosed with ALS. Even after retirement, Larry continues to battle with much courage and strength; only this time it is for his own sake. He is a true testament to what a hero really is.

ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophiclateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease thatslowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. Thelife expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time ofdiagnosis.
