For almost 6 years, we have watched this disease take over our world. Our young, once strong and healthy Sol is fighting a brave and courageous fight. Our boys have been affected greatly by this disease process over the most memorable and crucial years of their lives since the ages of 3 & 1. Now at ages 9 & 6 1/2, they realize how difficult and devastating this disease is.
The statistics are stark and depressing. Despite years of research, the disease is so complex that it is variable in every patient, so attempts to find a cure are a way off yet.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
